Our Deepest Fear.......

Happy New Year Yogi's-

With the New Year there are always thoughts of resolutions swirling around and we are wanting to start this, or stop doing that and there is nothing inherently wrong with this. But usually around the end of January or February we start to forget why we wanted to do this or that and maybe, "I will just skip today", etc, etc. Then we beat ourselves up for not sticking to it.

Why is it that we find ourselves not sticking to these so called resolutions or goals? FEAR! Yep, that EGO of ours LOVES fear! It tries to keep us from realizing our truth and keep us in that space of guilt, suspicion, anger, gluttony, feeling less then; you know the drill.

How do we change from falling into that same rut of fear based living? Well it is a daily practice, or intention of choosing LOVE instead of FEAR. Sounds simple enough. But the EGO is a smooth talker. That is why a daily practice or intention of choosing LOVE in every situation toward ourself and others is so important. Love=forgiveness, that includes ourself. We are all bumpin' around in this world wanting to be loved and accepted and how often we forget to begin with ourselves. And if we can't give that to ourself, how could we possibly share that with others.

So here is my New Years wish for everyone, to realize your LOVE and truth, because we are all that. Even the most harden person has that love in there. Even if it seems impossible to see, its there and is yearning to be set free. Best way to to see it, is to give it. So share your truth, which is love. The world needs it right now.

This quote is my absolute favorite and made me cry the first time my teacher read it to me during my teacher training. (thank you-Tricia Fiske) And it has inspired me ever since. Hope it does the same for you.

Much love and blessing in the New Year!

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us: it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

(by the way, A Return to Love is the best book I have read so far! )   :)
